Getting a gaming keyboard is a financial investment however it shouldn’t be a wallet breaker. It should be a mid-range price in which is affordable and will be worth your investment.
Today we will break down why this keyboard is in my opinion the best keyboard. Along with why others have recommended this keyboard and why I recommend it to you especially if you are either buying your first keyboard or are looking for a new gaming keyboard in a budget price range.
The Best Budget Gaming Keyboard for Every Gamer (2026)
The Corsair K70 Core
Whether you know about the Corsair brand or a brand new to it. This brand has one of the sturdiest and most reliable keyboards manufactured.
This keyboard is a fantastic choice if you are a gamer and a keyboard enthusiast. This is due to its excellent typing experience and affordable price retailing around ($100 USD) this does vary however depending on the outlet.
As a quick overview before we go into detail here are some of the great things about it.

Now let’s really break down in depth as to why this is the best budget keyboard of 2026. Firstly, let’s talk about the build quality. This keyboard is made out of aluminium plating insulated with foam padding aiding in sound dampening. This keyboard is also fitted with the Corsair MLX red switches which are linear and perfect for competitive gaming plus they also come pre-lubed meaning there will be no squeaks or creaks when pressing keys. This keyboard also has N-key roll over which allows for the simultaneous activation of all keys without the need for a keycap. This makes this keyboard another great reason for gaming.
Secondly the wrist rest is detachable and is also great for long sessions where comfort is needed. This followed by dedicated media controls and low input latency makes this once again a fantastic choice for those invested in getting a great keyboard. Not to mention this only retails for $100 USD.
Let’s not forget the cosmetic option of the RGB mode where you can use the Corsair software to make custom lighting effects for yourself. The software can be a little confusing at the beginning especially for first time users, but you pick it up pretty quick.
This while a fantastic choice for a beginning or for a budget keyboard comes with flaws and for non-serious hardcore modifiers doesn’t really apply but this keyboard is not hot-swappable. The only other problem which I have found is that the wrist rest even though good can feel rather basic in comparison to other wrist rests.
Note: From my personal experience I have owned a Corsair K70 Lux with red MX switches. That keyboard was amongst one of my favourites because of its audible feedback, quick response time and just overall look and feel of that keyboard. It served its purpose for three years before I decided to try out another keyboard. However, I overall think Corsair is in general a reliable and great brand to choose and I would highly recommend this variant the Corsair K70 Core RGB.
Summary
Overall this keyboard is a solid choice if you are in the market for your first gaming keyboard or a budget keyboard option and would like something that lasts long and feels like premium quality. There are plenty of brands too look at however this keyboard ranks amongst the highest out of them all.
Remember to thoroughly do your research before buying a keyboard as some of them can be rather costly. Always look out for features which interest you and remember to look at the pros and cons of each device.
